A discussion with a delegation of American foreign policy experts from the Washington based think-tanks Foreign Policy Initiative and the German Marshall Fund was held on 6 December 2010 at 2.30 p.m. at the VIF. The group consisted of William Kristol, Robert Kagan, Ashley Tellis, Gary Schmitt, Daniel Twining, Jamie Fly and Dhruva Jaishankar. There was a lively and wide ranging discussion on Indo-US relations. Discussions extended to foreign policy concerns in general and evolving strategic and security situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan and the dynamics of relationship with China and Iran were also deliberated upon.

A two-day seminar was organized by the VIF on March 11-12, 2010 that turned a laser beam focus on various security, strategic and foreign policy aspects of Afghanistan after the London Conference.
